GETTING STARTED
This should give you a quick guide to getting your company started and making some money:
Click "My Ships" or "New Ships". You will see a list of ships for sale. Find one you can afford. You start the game with 15000 credits. Click "Buy" in the column. You will get a message telling you it has been bought. If you don't then it's possible it has already been bought, simply try again and it should work fine.
Now you need a pilot for your ship. Click "Hire Crew". You should see a list of crew members, find a pilot with skill level of about 50 and click "Hire". Click "My Crew" and you should find them in the "Unassigned" list. Simply click "Assign". They should now appear in the "Assigned" list. Head to "My Ships" and you will see your ship all ready to make you some money. Find your ship and click on its name in the "Name" column. Think of an interesting name and type it in the "Name" box and click "Re-name", you have now personalised your ship.
CARGO
This section assumes you have a cargo ship and a pilot assignned to it.
In "My Ships" you will see a list of your ships. Find the one you want to use. If there is a petrol icon in the fuel column you can click it and your ship will be re-fueled. If there is a "Plot" in the "C Dest" column, your ship already has cargo and just needs to be sent on it's way - just click "Plot" and off it goes.
If there wasn't a "Plot" in the "C Dest" column, there should be a "choose" link in the "Cargo" column. Click "choose". You will find a list of cargo that you may take. You need to look at the reward (how much you'll get paid) and the fuel you will use. It'll take time to figure out the best load to take, so for nonw pick one and click "Load". You should be taken back to your list of ships. Your ship will now have a destination and an ETA (how long it'll take to arrive).
Your pilot's pay will be taken from your bank acount (don't worry if it goes into a negative amount).
When it does arrive the reward amount will have been added to your money. See the banking section for important info about money. Again you can re-fuel if there is a petrol icon in the fuel column.
If you have more than one ship you can send each one out as soon as it.
arrives.SALVAGE
Salvage ships are similar to cargo ships. In "My Ships" you will see in the "Salvage" column something like 0/1000. If you have previously collected salvage it may have a different number like 342/1000. Click it and you will see a list of salvage available. Chose one and click "Collect". You will end up back at "My Ships". Your salvage ship will have an ETA and will arrive in due course.
When it arrives you will not be able to re-fuel as you are floating in space rather than being docked at a planet. Click the salvage amount again (87/1000 for example) and fetch some more. When it is full click the amount again (ie 961/1000) and near the bottom of the screen there is a list of salvage depots. Pick one (probably the nearest) and click "Plot". When your salvage ship arrives you will receive the value of the salvage collected as money.
BANKING
Put your money in the bank! It can be stolen if it isn't. See the "Raiding" section.
Just click "Bank" and type in the amount you want to put in the bank. And click "Deposit". You can only do it once until a set time has passed, so make sure you put it all in.
Even if your bank account is in a negative amount you still want to pay money into your bank!
When you want to take some out type in the amount you need and click "Withdraw". You can only take out as much as you have - there is no loan or overdraft!
RAIDING
You can make a little extra money by raiding. Click "Raid". You will see a list of your ships along with the number of ships docked at the same place. Click "select" next to the one you want to use. Choose a targo and click "select". You will now see the result of your attack.
Each of your ships can only raid again after a set period of time. Your ships can only raid if they are docked. Don't forget to bank your loot or someone else will steal it back off you!
Headquarters
Your headquarters is where you can find out about your company. You can enter a company name if you like. You will also see a referral link. You can use this to refer friends to the game - but no spamming with it! You will see where your company is located and how much money you have both as money and in the bank. You can see how many crew members you have and how many ships you have and how many you are allowed. Your total assets is a valuation of your whole company including its money and its ships etc.
My Crew
This is where you can assign and unassign crew members. You will need to unassign a crew member if you want to sell a ship or to fire that crew member.
Places
This will just show you a list of all the planets you may visit. You can check which planets have fuel and which take salvage. You can click "Plot course" if you need to get a ship to a particular planet.
Co-ordinates
If you need to find out about some particular co-ordinates you can select them here. You will see some data about the area and you can plot a course too, if you want.
New Ships
Use the list to choose a ship to buy. The list tells you all the details about it. At the bottom you have the option to sell a ship. You must unassign all the crew members before it shows in the list. You will get 80% of its value.
Hire Crew
Whenever you need a new crew member use the list to pick one. After you have hired one you need to assign them to a ship for them to be used.
